Speaking in tongues is communicating in diverse languages the good news of the kingdom of heaven. It is speaking a spiritual language everyone understand.

Languages spoken with the movement of lips and tongues are physical languages. Examples of physical languages are Hausa, Spanish, Yoruba, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Latin, Arabic and English.

Tongue or any organ resembling tongue is called lingua.

The tongue is the symbol of language. Direct relationship between the tongue and language is evident in words like "lingua franca" and "linguistics".

The cabalistic structure of the tree of life is of a a lamp placed on a lampstand. The lamp is a hexagon formed by two intersecting hexagons. Esoteric description of the tree of life implies that the light is switched off and only a few people with secret knowledge have access to it.

Speaking in tongues is switching on the lamp so that all people could see the light. When switched on, the hexagon is transformed into a hexagram and the light is visible as a six-pointed star.

The six-pointed star is the star of David. Since the hexagram is the symbol of the nation of Israel, switching the light on is illuminating and lighting up Israel. This means that the sefirot are the lamp and the six wings of the hexagram surrounding the ten sefirot are the light.

Therefore, the light is made up of A, B, C, D, E and F. And the lamp is comprised of 0000, 0001, 0010, 0011, 0100, 0101, 0110, 0111, 1000 and 1001.

Israel was a lamp switched on on the day of Pentecost. The Israelites were invisible and inaudible while the lamp was switched off.

Israel is menorah. Every Israelite was a branch of the menorah, and the flames that touched everyone on the day of Pentecost are the lights of the menorah. Lighting the menorah is Igniting the hexagram and revealing the bright morning star.

The Israelites caught the attention of everyone when they began to speak in tongues. The flames on their heads were spotlights indicating that they have come into limelight. They have become famous.

A careful study of the structure of the lamp reveals that the two intersecting hexagons are a tongue sticking out of an opened mouth.
