Cowries: Iwonrin |

Iwonrin (|| || | |) is the fourth Odu on the list of the sixteen principal Odu in Ifa divination system. It has double lines in the first and second positions and single lines in the third and fourth positions.

Iwonrin is equal to 4 bits like each of the other fifteen Odu. The sixteen principal Odu constitute a hexadecimal system in which Iwonrin is equal to 3.

The double line is equal to 0 and the single line is equal to 1, such that Iwonrin (|| || | |) is equal to 0011.

In Iwonrin, like in the other fifteen Odu or Afa-du, the double line is the split side of a cowrie shell and the single line is the smooth side.

Consequently, the two double lines are the split sides of two cowries and the two single lines are the smooth sides of two cowries.
